Custom Request Fields

A basic Request from one of your users consists of 5 pieces of information:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Date(s)
  • Time(s)
  • Facility

You can add more fields to your Requests with Custom Request Fields. These enable you to get more information from your users as to what they want from their Requests. You may add as many Custom Request Fields as you like.

Examples of Custom Request Fields include:

  • Number of participants
  • Assignment to be working on
  • Comments
  • Software needed

Creating Custom Request Fields

To create a new Custom Request Field, click Setup -> Request Screen -> [Add a Custom Request Field].

Once an empty Custom Request Field has been created, click on the empty Field Name, Field Type and Order of Appearance boxes to adjust those values.

Set the Field Name

The Field Name can be as long as you like. Unless you specify otherwise, these words will appear on your Schedule, so keep them as short as possible. The exception is for the dropdown Field Type (see below).

Set the Field Type

The Field Type determines what you see on the Reservation Screen. Allowable Types include shortfield, longfield, textarea, checkbox, and dropdown. Any other value is ignored.

Any whole number is allowed. Lower numbers appear first in the list of Custom Request Fields.
