Company Profile
Professional Education Designs, Inc. was started by Scott Cumming, Tim Elliott and John Papa, three individuals who have been involved in multimedia presentations, curriculum development, and a passion for excellence in and out of the classroom and boardroom for over 35 years.
It was that same passion that drove the team to develop affordable software customized for the educational community. Our products are now being used by school districts throughout the country.
Scott Cumming
For
over 34 years Scott had been
teaching Driver Education at Downers Grove South in Illinois.
Scott & his family retired to South Carolina and he could not sit still.
He currently is teaching Driver Education once again and loving it.
He created the Parent Involvement
Program at DGS along with associated parent materials.
He also helped develop AllState's Parent
Involvement Program Materials. He has written, reviewed and
contributed a variety of articles to traffic safety journals;
local newspapers; State Education Associations & Agencies.
He is the founder of Professional Education Designs and has presented at many State & National Traffic Safety Conferences. He has served on numerous Illinois State Driver Education Task Forces; most recently on the Secretary Of State's Aggressive Driving Project.
Scott is passionate about traffic safety and hopes that some day his example will spur others to attain the loftier goals that excellence demands.
In May of 2005 Scott was inducted into the IHSCDEA Hall of Fame.
Tim Elliott
Tim Elliott brings a variety of
creative experiences to Professional Education Designs. He
studied both Architecture and Communications at the University
of Illinois, then entered the world of broadcasting, producing
commercials for radio stations across Illinois, Michigan, and
Nevada.
Tim is currently Multimedia Technician at Community High School District 99 South in Downers Grove, Illinois, taking care of the AV needs of 200 staff members and 3300 students. He is also the district web manager.
In his spare time, Tim is a software developer and hosts numerous websites and web applications for both the private & public sector.
John Papa
For 35 years John was the Department Coordinator & taught Driver
Education at Lake Park in Illinois.
Currently retired John has devoted all his efforts full time software development.
He has written several instructional
manuals for parents and teachers about "Parent
Involvement" in Driver Education. Contributed &
reviewed numerous traffic safety journals and driver
education textbooks. Designs & publishes numerous web
sites for teachers, students and parents to use as
resources guides.
John still serves on numerous Illinois State Driver Education Task Forces and is a past President of the Illinois High School & College Driver Education Association. Has made numerous technology presentations at the local, state & national level.
In May 2003 inducted into the IHSCDEA Hall of Fame.
In what little spare time he has, John is an avid angler chasing fish in the Midwest and up north of the border.
